Additional Notes
A few additional things to keep in mind as helpful hints. Nothing can ruin a scouting overnight adventure like being wet and cold!
Be sure to bring extra socks. You may need them!
Sleeping Bags are rated for survival, not comfort! A good "rule of thumb" is that a sleeping bag stops being comfortable ~10 degrees higher than it's rating. Therefore if you have a 40 degree sleeping bag, you will start to feel cold when the temperature gets to around 50 degrees.
Ever wonder why your air mattress deflates? Be sure to have padding under it! The ground will pull your body heat right through your sleeping bag. Be sure to try to have a sleeping pad that provides at least 1/2 inch of padding between you and the ground!
Pack 625 will cancel a planned outdoor camping trip of the weather is expected to drop below 32 degrees at night.
